Thanksgiving Outreach & Hope Under the Tree 2025

Thanksgiving Outreach & Hope Under the Tree

As we enter this season of gratitude and giving, St. Luke’s invites you to take part in two beloved outreach ministries that help bring hope and joy to families in our community.

Thanksgiving Outreach

We will once again partner with St. Vincent de Paul to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in their housing programs. Please consider supporting this ministry by preparing a home-cooked traditional Thanksgiving dish for Thanksgiving Day.

Foods especially needed include baked turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, and green beans.
Sign-up sheets will be available in the back of the church after Sunday’s service, and envelopes will be provided for monetary donations to help purchase needed items.

Your generosity helps ensure every family has a warm meal and a reason to give thanks this holiday season.

Hope Under the Tree

Our annual Hope Under the Tree partnership with Volunteers of America continues a cherished 20-year tradition of providing Christmas gifts to individuals and families in need.

You can choose to adopt an individual, child, adult, or family to bless with gifts. For many, these will be the only presents they receive this Christmas. Gift tags with names and wish lists will be available beginning Sunday, November 16.

If you would like to participate but cannot shop, please contact Paula Carter (225-938-7014) — she knows a few elves who can help!

Together, through Thanksgiving Outreach and Hope Under the Tree, we have the opportunity to share God’s love in a very real and joyful way this holiday season.
